Frequently Asked Questions

Learn how KineoFrame works, what media it supports, how projects are handled, and where to get help.

Getting started

What is KineoFrame?+
KineoFrame is an iPhone creative-editing app that turns Live Photos and videos into animated movies and stop-motion-style memories. You can combine clips, shape their movement, edit selected frames, add creative tools and effects, and export the finished result.
What media can I use?+
KineoFrame supports Live Photos and videos made available through your iPhone photo library. KineoFrame works with motion-based media. Still photos by themselves are not supported as project source media.
Can I use Live Photos and videos in the same project?+
Yes. Supported Live Photos and videos can be combined in the same project and arranged in the order you choose.
How many clips can I add?+
A project can include up to 12 supported clips.
Can I trim clips?+
Yes. Supported videos and Live Photos can be trimmed from the Clips area.
Can I rearrange clips?+
Yes. Drag and drop clips into the order you want from the Clips area.

Motion and editing

What is the difference between Movie and Stop Motion?+
Movie is designed for smoother playback using the motion in the selected media. Moving toward Stop Motion creates a more deliberate frame-based presentation. Playback speed can also be adjusted.
Can I keep the original audio?+
You can mute a clip's audio from the Motion screen when you don't want it included in the final export.
What can I add to a frame?+
KineoFrame includes drawing tools, text, stamps, stickers, cutouts, and creative effects for selected frames.
Can I edit more than one frame?+
Yes. Move through the project's editable frames and make changes where they are needed. Add to Next Frame can carry supported edits forward without recreating them manually.
Can I apply one edit to a whole range of frames automatically?+
KineoFrame is centered on intentional frame-by-frame editing. Arbitrary range or whole-sequence batch editing is not currently part of the app.
Does KineoFrame replace my original media?+
KineoFrame is intended to create an edited project and exported result without replacing the original source Live Photos or videos in your photo library.
Why can preview or export take time?+
Frame extraction, effects, and video rendering require device processing. Performance can vary with device model, project length, source media, available storage, and the number of edits.

Photos access and privacy

Are my photos and videos uploaded to KineoFrame?+
KineoFrame does not upload selected media to KineoFrame-operated servers for editing. Media selection, frame editing, preview creation, and project rendering are designed to occur on the device.
Does KineoFrame require an account?+
No KineoFrame account is required.
Why does KineoFrame need Photos access?+
Photos permission allows KineoFrame to display and import the supported Live Photos and videos you choose. The media available to the app depends on the permission level granted through iOS.
Can I use limited Photos access?+
Yes. When iOS offers limited access, you can choose which media is made available and can later change the selection through Manage Selected Media or iOS Settings.
What happens if I select a regular still photo?+
Apple's system media interface may display regular photos, but unsupported still photos are not added as KineoFrame source media.
I imported media, but a photo isn't showing up in Clips. Why?+
KineoFrame only works with Live Photos and videos, so a regular still photo won't appear in Clips even if it appears in Apple's picker. If you use Limited Photos access, confirm that the Live Photo or video you want is included in the items you've permitted. You can update the selected media through KineoFrame or iOS Settings.
Does KineoFrame track me for advertising?+
No. The current app does not include third-party analytics, advertising networks, cross-app tracking, or data brokers, and KineoFrame does not sell personal information.

Drafts and exports

Where are drafts stored?+
Eligible KineoFrame drafts are designed to be stored locally on the device. KineoFrame does not provide a KineoFrame cloud account or online project library.
Are drafts guaranteed to remain available?+
No local storage system can guarantee permanent recovery. App deletion, device failure, storage loss, operating-system behavior, file corruption, source-media changes, and other technical events may affect a draft. Export important finished work and maintain appropriate device backups.
How do I export a project?+
Open Export, preview the completed result, and use the available save or share action. iOS may request permission before saving media to Photos.
Where does an export go?+
A result saved to Photos is handled by Apple's Photos system. A result sent through the sharing interface is handled by the destination you select.
Why did an export fail?+
Confirm that the device has enough free storage, required Photos permission is available, and the source media still exists. Closing and reopening the app or restarting the device may resolve a temporary issue. Contact support if the problem continues.

Tools & Features

Is KineoFrame free?+
Yes. KineoFrame v1.0 is free. All current drawing tools, editor tools, and effects are included, with no subscription or in-app purchase in the current release.
What tools are included?+

How do I report a problem?+
Email support@kineoframe.com. Include the KineoFrame version and build number, iPhone model, iOS version, the step where the issue occurred, and a screenshot or screen recording when useful. Don't send private media unless it's necessary and you're comfortable sharing it.
